11/17/2023

QuickBooks Error 6143
QuickBooks is an efficient accounting program created for small and mid-size businesses to update new transactions and store financial data securely as company files. Unfortunately, users sometimes have to deal with QuickBooks Error 6143, which stops them from opening the data files. If this error stops you from accessing your data file, continue reading the blog to learn why this happens and the dependable methods to rectify it.
Get this error quickly removed by our QB support team, available for your assistance at 1-855-856-0042.

Reasons

You cannot access your financial data after the occurrence of this error, as you’ll run into error codes when you open the company file. The most common causes for this error stopping company file tasks are given below-
  1. Database Server Manager crashes or fails to start because of a damaged transaction log (.tlg) file.
  2. QuickBooks cannot process the company file as its format has been changed after incurring damage.
  3. The company file is moved and doesn’t exist where QuickBooks tries to search it.

Solutions

You’ll face a lot of trouble creating, restoring, or repairing your company file after the development of this error on your QBDT. Some of the best methods to remove this data file error from your QB are discussed below-

Solution 1- Launch the DBSM after mending the Transaction log file

All the business transactions stored in the company files are also stored in the transaction log file. The DBSM uses this file to set up the multi-user network and share the financial data among users. However, the whole multi-user setup fails if the .TLG files get damaged, and the software fails to process them due to data discrepancies. You’ll have to repair the .tlg file and register it in the DBSM to make sure it doesn’t lead to company file errors in the software. Use these steps-
  1. Open the file explorer and go to the location of the QB folder.
  2. Right-click the .tlg file inside and click the Rename option.
  3. Do not change the transaction log file name, just add’.old’ at the end of the file name.
  4. Run your QuickBooks DBSM after saving the file and navigate to the Scan Folders tab.
  5. Select your QB folder in the list or use the Browse option to specify its location.
  6. Click the Start Scan option and reopen QB after completing the scan.

Solution 2- Open the data file again after fixing it with the QuickBooks Tool hub

QuickBooks can also develop company file errors due to damage or corruption in the file, turning them into unsupported format. Go to the QB website and download the newest QB tool hub version according to your QB product. Apply these steps after the tool hub is completely installed-
  1. Run the QB tool hub and click the Company file issues menu.
  2. Select the Quick Fix My File option and wait until the tool automatically repairs the data file.
